Profiles - Oodles of Doodles

Hello, faeries!

I've sorta recently started a new doodle notebook/kinda sketchbook thing. XD I've been doing lots of profiles of random people. It's super fun to draw a profile because:

  1. It's just shoulders and up.
  2. You get to focus on the face and hair.
  3. It's just fun, in general. XD
And it's nice to not have the pressure of making it look perfect because it's just a doodle.

I feel like showing you guys what my notebook looks like. I got for Christmas like... two(?) years ago. XDD I'm slow at actually using my gifts that I get. :P

Isn't it really pretty? XDDDD I really like the saying on it. :3

...

*takes deep breath* Okay, now on to the more interesting stuff. Art! :O

This is the second entry in the notebook. (*whispers* First one was a little title/introduction page and is rather boring. So I'm not posting it. XD) This drawing is me trying to draw a whimsical girl. I was just trying different techniques for her eyes and stuff. :P

*glares at drawing* The shirt looks like I was inspired my Barbie Fairytopia. *does a slow face palm* XDD

After drawing the pink haired girl I still wanted to draw but I didn't know what. So I asked Lostfairy if she had any requests. She told me I should draw Black Gryph0n/Gabriel Brown.

So I did. XD

I didn't have anyyyyyyyyyyyy reference photos. Uh, yeah, that's probably why it doesn't really look like him. Actually, on second thought! Reference photos of Gabe haven't helped me before so, I don't know what happened here! XDD

Okay, quick story! I drew a few of these doodles at family friend's house. And one of the boys there saw me coloring Gabe. And he asked if I did that just now. I told him yes. And (I think???) I handed him my notebook or I flipped the page to the next blank page. And he was, like, "Woah! You drew this yourself? I thought it was a coloring book!!!! :OOO" I'm like "Whut. da. heck...? @.@ Does this drawing look like a coloring page to you??! What coloring book would have manga profiles to color in?!!" XD I didn't actually say that to him but I thought it. :P In reality, I laughed politely and told I had drawn it. >.<

Ahem! Anyway! XD

Next, I drew a vampire. Yup. I drew a vampire. Now I'm one of those kind of people... XD Just kidding!

I don't know why I drew a vampire, to be honest. XD *shrugs* Just felt like it. :P She's kinda cutesy vampire that wouldn't do much harm. ^.^

*talks in derpy voice and smiles a funny small smile* I attempted to draw a map. c: It didn't work out so well. :3 XDD

This is a vent doodle. I drew the hand wayyyy too small and pointy looking. So I made it into a robot hand and then gave the girl metal plating and stuff. XD So she started out being a normal girl and then turned into a homeless looking cyborg. XD Yup, cause, heck, that makes sense! O.O XDD

ZUKO, MY FIERY PRINCE BAE. <3

Lost requested this art, too. It's the stage of Zuko where his hair is growing out and it's really cute. It makes him look way younger. (Surprisingly, it was pretty easy to draw Zuko's hair! O.O Usually my short haircuts on guys look funny. But this time it turned out really really good! XD)

Another day, I was bored and wanted to draw something, so Swirlshine got to request art from me. And she asked for a human version of her dog, Beauty.

I like incorporating the animal details to the girl I drew. (I'm totally going to draw a lot more furries/shape-shifters now!)

Anddd, because I like sneak peeks and WIPs of art, I'm posting a WIP of a doodle I'm working on.

I'm drawing my new favorite Animal Crossing characters as humans. XD

- - -

On a side note, because this post was so long and had a ton of art pieces, I might do a really short post on Thursday or none at all. I just thought I'd let you know. :)

What's your favorite Nintendo game to play? Right now, Animal Crossing New Leaf is my favorite. ;)

Tales of the Month and a Couple of Sneak Peeks

Hey faeries!

Summer's just motoring right along, isn't it?

...

*tries to think of creative things to say in this intro*

*can't*

*slumps over and puts head on the desk and mumbles something about not having a lot of creativity in the writing department - so sorry if this post doesn't make a whole lot of sense*

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

This book is about: Harry's in his second year in Hogwarts. And, ignoring the warnings about danger from a strange little house-elf, things are actually going semi-normal. But, one day, Harry starts hearing creepy whispers and people at the school are becoming Petrified! And, to add to the list of things that are making life harder for Harry, he has a famous new teacher who seems to know nothing about teaching; there's a new Seeker on the Slytherin Quidditch team that despises Harry; and the house-elf's "help" is far from being helpful and closer to being harmful. Can Harry figure out what's happening at school before it's too late?

I love Chamber of Secrets so much! Everything was amazing! Again, this book is so perfectly charming. And *does a little happy dance* there was a few Draco scenes!!!! <3 XD There were two characters in the book that were kinda annoying, but I still loved it. The ending to the book was twisty and awesome. XD

Sundae My Prince Will Come by Suzanne Nelson

This book is about: Mali loves ballet. Mali's mom loves the ice cream parlor, which means that her mom doesn't get Mali's passion. Things are a little tight with money for them, so when the Mali's ballet lessons start costing more, Mali has to quit. And, then Mali meets Alonzo. Alonzo's love is gelato. So Alonzo makes a deal with Mali that he would get his mom, who is a famous ballet dancer, to teach her ballet and he would work in the ice cream parlor. With drama, secrets, and gelato, what could go wrong?

Like all Suzanne Nelson books, this one was darling. It was different having a main character in a book who already has a boyfriend. The main character was kinda judgmental at the beginning, so that was also intriguing to read. :o And Alonzo's way of talking was adorkable. He's from Italy so English isn't his first language and you can tell. <3 He struggled a little with his words. XD

To sum it up, it was a really sweet book! ^-^

Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances, Vol. 1 by Masami Tsuda

This book is about: Yukino is at the top of her class. She's good at everything and the whole school admires her. But then she starts high school, and there's a new boy in town. Arima (or Soiichiro as some call him) seems to be even more perfect than Yukino. Yukino's feels threatened by Arima. So she tries everything she can to get to the top again. One day, Arima finds out that Yukino isn't as perfect as she makes herself out to be and he blackmails her into doing his homework. Maybe Arima isn't so perfect either. Will Yukino and Arima learn that they don't have to be the best at everything?

I know this book sounds like the main character is a terrible role-model, and she, technically, kind of is, but she slowly gets better as the book goes on. XD And art style was amazing in this graphic novel!!! I loved it. <3 I could just stare at some of the panels, just trying to understand all the art techniques. The romance was cute and, although the story was rather random sometimes, I honestly loved it so much. Everything was just so anime-ish! c:

On a side note, the book was clean, except for a some swear words. :1 I just ignored those.

So, I promised two sneak peeks in the title of this post, didn't I? :3

Can you guess what this is going to be? C; This little project won't be finished for awhile, so you'll have to be patient. XD

This sneak peek is just giving you a small taste of what some of my art will be next week. :D Hint: I'm using markers more.

What do you think of the sneak peeks?

Random Art and Art Request Not Done as I Promised it Would Be (sorry about that!) and New Posting Schedule!

*hums to song I'm listening to*

...

*foot bounces to the tune*

...

*fingers start tapping to the melody*

...

*sways a little*

...

*starts danc-*

Okay! I need to stop! XD

Ahem. I am completely calm.

*looks away innocently*

Whaaaat? I did not have coffee before writing this post. Heh, heh, why would you think THAT? It's not like I'm acting hyper again! Nope, no way! This girly is not crazy, at allllllllll. *laughs weirdly then coughs because it looks like I'm hyper if I laugh like that and I'm trying to convince you guys I did not drink coffee but is failing so miserably that I break down with plenty of tears and snot and confess that I did indeed drink a cup of coffee and then I beg for forgiveness and promise never to touch that drink again, but we all know that I can't resist a good cup of java and will go back to my old ways in a blink of an eye*

OM. I'm so, so weird. XD Ignore that crazy intro. :P

You guys remember me drawing the Korok, Makar? Well, this is one of his friends named Hollo. I felt like drawing one more of these little guys. And I have to say, I think this guy turned out better than Makar. D: #Oops. #IshouldhaveshownyouhowtodrawHolloinsteadofMakarbecausethenyouwouldknowhowtodrawthebetteronenottheuglierone :P (If anyone can tell what the loooooonnnnngggg hashtag says, then you get a gold star! XD)

Hollo is like a lot of other Koroks in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game in the fact that he carries two sticks with berries of some sort on them. But I didn't draw Hollo from BOTW; he is technically from Wind Waker.

*looks at the picture some more and shakes head a little* Hollo has such a strange nose. XDDD But that's how it looks like in the game, so *shrugs* oh well. :P He'll just have to deal with having a very pointy nose... Annnnnd eyes that are different sizes and a funny mouth/chin thingabob???? XDD

I finished coloring my picture of some of Draco's emotions. :D I really, really like the neutral expression. XD I don't know why, but that's my favorite of all the faces I drew on here. ^.^

In case you were wondering, when I color his sweater that he wears over the collared shirt, I color it first with a regular black pencil. And the colored pencil I have likes leaving little white spots everywhere unless you color über hard, so I then color it over with my white pencil.

(Fun Fact: for the longest time I had no idea what the use of a white colored pencil was, but recently-ish I found it is quite handy for blending colors. It kinda smooths them out, if that makes sense. XD Also I have no idea if I have told you all about the white pencil thing before, so sorry if I have!

And then, once I finished coloring all sweater with white, I use another black I have that colors denser than my first black. I shade it with the denser black colored pencil. (The denser black colored pencil is a Prismacolor brand pencil and the other colored pencils I use all the time are of the Staedtler brand.)

I'm so so so sorry! I promised last week that I would have maybe two art requests done by this week. And-and-and- *bursts into tears* I DIDN'T. I don't. I haven't. I should've. I could've. And *insert all the others words for I lied and didn't do what I promised.* DX

I'm very sorry I didn't get the first one done. I'm super close, though. I have, like, less than half of the picture to color...?

So instead of being able to post the fully colored art request from Sarah (she was the first one to ask for art, and I'm doing a first come, first served kind of thing), I'll show you all a sneak peek of what I've colored so far!

What do you think so far? After I had inked it... I realized I forgot an important detail to Sarah's request. :1 She's supposed to have a cloak.

And I didn't add it.

Phooey.

I feel like I'm saying sorry a lot in this post. I'm terribly, terribly sorry, Sarah!!!! I hope you can forgive me... :( I'll try my hardest to make the rest of the coloring make up for that.

You're all probably wondering why the ham and eggs would I want a new posting schedule. The reason is... with this new schedule, I'll be posting more frequently and there will be more art spread through out; instead of having an art dump every couple of weeks. I want to share my art with you more. :)

So! My schedule will be posting every other Saturday instead of each Saturday. No! Don't worry! I'm not finished telling you my whole new schedule yet. And I'll post on every Monday and Thursday! Those two extra post will be a lot shorter because I'll just be posting one piece of art I've done recently, but it won't mean less content for my blog.

I hope this is okay with you! I really feel like this help me show you more art, which I want to do so badly. If this new schedule is not working for me in the next couple months, I'll switch back to my old one. But starting this week, I'll start the new schedule. :) I'm rather excited! XD

See you on Monday, faeries!!!

*bursts into song*

♫I guess I'm stuck here,

Until my luck clears,

Blue skies painted in my eyes!♫

*wants to keep going but holds back because that would be weird if I sang a whole song on my blog*

*mumbles* I'm. Still. Completely. Normal.

Heh! Who am I kidding? ♫I'm an oddity but that's alright!

What's your thoughts on my new schedule?
